Sign up for indoor soccer fun this winter. Teams will play five-a-side futsal (four court players and one goal keeper) with a roster limit of ten. Teams will provide their own uniforms. Game play will follow FIFA futsal rules with local modifications. U12/U13 and U14/U15 male, female, and coed teams are welcome and other age brackets are possible if there is sufficient interest. The cost is $260 per team. Cost does not include uniforms, player cards, and staff cards (player cards $6 per player; staff $11 per staff member per team). The registration deadline is Tuesday, December 20, 2011. An initial deposit of $160 due by Dec 20, 2011, with the balance due before Jan 3, 2012. League play will begin Saturday, January 7, 2012 and run through Saturday, February 18, 2011.

Many people lost loved ones, friends, neighbors, or coworkers in the recent Joplin tornado.

We feel very fortunate that all of our players and coaches are physically safe, but several of our youth players had their homes damaged or completely destroyed in the storm. We ask our club family and supporters for help in providing for their needs as they recover from this tragedy. Any club member or visitor may make a donation to help these families.

MAY 24 UPDATE: We can now confirm that three of our players’ families lost all of their property, and one family was completely without property insurance. Please help these families if you can afford to do so.

Midwest United Wins Silver

The Bentonville 3 v 3 Kickit soccer tournament provided the six-member team of Brian Warner, Brittany Dutton, Josue Hernandez, Pavin Winkle, Sullivan Lauderdale, and Tony Salcedo with important lessons.  Chief among these were that the ball moves a lot faster than an individual soccer player and that teamwork wins games.  The team struggled with these lessons, going down in consecutive defeats on Saturday.  On Sunday, the team had absorbed these lessons and teamwork made all the difference as the team went on to win the silver bracket.  In the final, Midwest United was down 4-1 at the half, but made a dramatic comeback to tie the score by the end of regular time.  In the “golden goal” overtime, Brittany scored the thrilling “golden goal,” sealing the championship win.  Needless to say, we are very proud of our players, their teamwork, and the heart that they showed on the pitch.
